HP Pavilion a4310f
PC
HP has a reputation of bringing in systems that caters to all kinds of needs. They offer the gaming systems,
productivity systems, and of course, for the buyer whose needs are basic and only a limited amount to spend on a
brand new computer, the budget system. The HP Pavilion a4310f Desktop PC, with a tag price that is less than $500,
falls under the budget system. Don’t let its category fool you though – the a4310f Desktop PC is a capable machine,
as long as you have realistic expectations.
The HP Pavilion a4310f Desktop PC measures in at 16 x 7 x 15 inches (LWH) which is just
right for a tower computer. HP opted to put an AMD processor under the hood of the a4310f. It comes with an AMD
Athlon™ II X2 250u Dual-Core Processor with 3.0 GHz speed. The chipset used in the a4310f is the NVIDIA nForce
MCP61P Chipset. It has a 2MB L2 Cache and 4000MHz system bus speed. For the physical memory, the a4310f Desktop PC
comes pre-equipped with 2 pieces of 2GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM memory, bumping the total amount of RAM to 4. For your
graphics enjoyment, the a4310f Desktop PC has the NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Graphics with 256MB integrated shared
graphics memory. This can be further increased to 1919 MB depending on how much is allocated by Windows.
Being able to expand a system is an important factor, especially if you have plans to
upgrade in the future. The HP Pavilion a4310f Desktop PC comes with a bevy of expansion options. It has 1 PCI
Express x16 slot, 2 PCI Express x1 slots and one PCI slot. If you plan to add in more hard drives or even optical
disc drives, you have two 5.25” external and two 3.5” external bays at your disposal.
One of the biggest selling points of the HP Pavilion a4310f Desktop PC is the large capacity
drive that comes out of the box. Unlike other systems that come with a smaller drive, the a4310f comes with a
pretty hefty 640GB Serial ATA hard drive, providing you with more storage without having to shell out more
cash.
Performance-wise, the HP a4310f Desktop PC is more than capable of performing the basic
productivity tasks such as word processing. It is able to play HD videos out of the box, thanks to the amount of
RAM already installed in the system. You still won’t be able to play those 3D games with very high requirements
satisfactorily. However, it has enough clout to run old games with reasonable requirements.
If you are looking for a system that would be functional and would have enough power to do
all of the most basic tasks without having to add or purchase anything else, the HP Pavilion a4310f Desktop PC is
worth a second look.
